Platform Guide
Terms of Service
The rules and commitments that govern your use of Modsy.
These Terms form a contract between you and Modsy. By using the platform you agree to them. If you do not accept these Terms, do not use the service.
Eligibility & accounts
- You must be legally allowed to use the service in your region and old enough to accept these Terms.
- Keep your login credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Roles (user, modder, admin) control access to features. Misuse of elevated permissions may lead to removal.
Content rights & licenses
- You must own the rights to the mods and media you upload or have permission to distribute them. Respect game EULAs and third-party IP.
- By uploading, you grant Modsy a license to host, display, distribute, and promote your content on the platform and in related communications.
- You retain ownership of your content. Removing or archiving a mod stops future distribution from the site.
Acceptable use
- No stolen or reuploaded mods, malware, exploits, or attempts to damage player systems.
- No harassment, hate speech, impersonation, spam, or attempts to manipulate downloads or ratings.
- Provide accurate descriptions, tags, compatibility info, and changelogs so players can install safely. Mark outdated builds as archived.
Moderation
- Mods can be set to pending, approved, or archived. Modsy may refuse or remove content that violates these Terms or the Platform Rules.
- Users can report mods or comments. We may pause visibility during investigation and will remove content confirmed to be in violation.
Modder Membership & premium mods
- Creator Membership includes a durable free Launch plan and optional paid plans. It unlocks creator-side premium publishing and monetization tools according to the active plan. Premium content must follow the same ownership, safety, and moderation rules as free content.
- Plan recommendations and usage measurements are advisory. Modsy does not automatically select a paid plan, create a charge, or change your plan from those measurements. Every paid checkout or plan change requires explicit creator action and provider confirmation.
- Premium access may be offered through supported subscription providers such as Patreon or Lemon Squeezy. You are responsible for keeping your connected provider accounts, products, campaigns, and subscription settings accurate.
- Modsy verifies access before protected downloads, but external provider billing, subscription management, payment disputes, refunds, and account availability are also governed by the provider's own terms.
- Cancelling a paid Creator Membership stops renewal while paid features remain available through the provider-confirmed paid-through date. After that date, or after unresolved billing recovery, premium management may become read-only until another approved membership arrangement is active.
- Creator billing cancellation, expiry, or payment failure does not by itself delete or automatically hide existing content. Existing supporter entitlements already paid for remain governed by their own paid-through periods, while moderation and legal removal remain separate.
Termination
- You may stop using Modsy at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for the platform or community.
- On termination we may retain data as required for legal, accounting, or safety reasons, including payment records and moderation logs.
Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided “as is” without warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Modsy is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes
We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced through the site or email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
