Euro Truck Simulator 2 mods are easy to install and greatly enhance your gameplay experience. This guide explains how to install ETS 2 mods manually, step by step, in a clear and beginner-friendly way.

How to Install a Mod for Euro Truck Simulator 2

1. Open the downloaded archive

ETS 2 mods are usually downloaded as .zip or .rar files.

  • Open the archive using WinRAR, 7-Zip, or a similar program.

  • Inside the archive, you will see a file with the .scs extension.

⚠️ Do not open the .scs file.
The .scs file is the mod itself and must remain unopened.

2. Locate the ETS 2 mod folder

Navigate to the following directory on your computer:

Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod

If the mod folder does not exist, create it manually.

3. Move the .scs file to the mod folder

  • Drag the .scs file from the archive.

  • Drop it directly into the mod folder.

❗ Do not extract or modify the .scs file in any way.

4. Enable the mod in Mod Manager

  1. Launch Euro Truck Simulator 2.

  2. On the Profiles screen, open Mod Manager.

  3. Find the mod in the list and activate it.

  4. Confirm and exit the Mod Manager.

5. Start the game

  • Start the game normally.

  • The mod is now active and ready to use.

Enjoy your new ETS 2 mod!

Tips

  • Always check the mod’s compatibility with your ETS 2 version.

  • If the mod doesn’t appear, make sure the .scs file is placed directly inside the mod folder and not inside another folder.

  • Some mods may require a specific load order to function properly.

This method works for most ETS 2 mods available on Modsy.
