What Leak Protection does
Modsy App installations include built-in protection to help creators trace unauthorized redistribution and protect their work. Available to all modders, for free.
If you discover a suspected shared copy of your mod, Leak Protection can help you investigate where that copy came from. It gives you a way to review a concern about your work before deciding what to do next.
Who can use it
Leak Protection is available to every modder publishing through the Modsy App. No paid membership or separate installer integration is required. You do not need to register a Desktop App Auth API application to use it.
The protection is built into Modsy App installations. Whether you are preparing your first Desktop release or already have published mods, you can find the related publishing guidance and tools in Modsy.
Where to get started
Sign in to your modder account and open Modder Dashboard → Mods. For a mod published for the Modsy App, open its actions menu and choose Leak Protectionto access the tool for that mod.
The dashboard includes a How to use Leak Protection guide with checking instructions and explanations of the results. Use that guidance when investigating a suspected shared copy so you can understand the information available for your mod.
What to expect
Leak Protection helps with investigation; it cannot guarantee that unauthorized redistribution will never happen. Treat the results as information to review alongside the circumstances in which you found the suspected shared copy.
A matched account indicates who received a copy. It does not establish who uploaded or shared it. Review the available information carefully before contacting someone or deciding how to respond. The dashboard provides further guidance for interpreting a check.
