Linked subscription value

What the number means

Linked subscription value is the estimated monthly gross value of eligible Patreon and Lemon Squeezy subscriptions connected to content you publish on Modsy. It is calculated before provider fees, taxes, refunds not yet reported to Modsy, payout adjustments, and your own business expenses.

It is a plan-usage measurement, not a sales report or an estimate of the amount you will receive in your bank account.

How it is calculated

Modsy calculates a monthly equivalent for each eligible subscription and adds the results:

• A monthly subscription contributes its verified recurring monthly value.
• An annual subscription contributes its verified recurring annual value divided by 12.
• A subscription quantity greater than one is included when the provider reports it as part of the recurring price.
• Verified recurring discounts reduce the value. Taxes are not treated as subscription value.
• Supported non-USD currencies are converted to USD using the recorded exchange-rate evidence for the measurement date.

For example, ten subscriptions at $5 per month and two subscriptions at $60 per year contribute $50 + ($120 ÷ 12) = $60 in linked subscription value per month.

The dashboard groups Lemon Squeezy members by the billing interval of the linked subscription variant. If that catalog information is unavailable, it falls back to the verified subscription-price cadence. Annual values shown in the breakdown have already been divided by 12.

What is counted

A subscription is counted when Modsy can verify that it:

• Belongs to a connected Patreon campaign or Lemon Squeezy store.
• Is active, or is cancelled but still has paid access remaining.
• Matches a tier, product, or variant linked to a currently available Premium or Early Access mod.
• Has enough verified price, cadence, currency, and payment evidence to calculate a value, or qualifies for a clearly labelled estimate.

Cancelling renewal does not immediately remove a subscription. It continues to count until its provider-confirmed paid-access period ends.

What is not counted

Modsy does not count:

• Inactive or expired subscriptions.
• Trials and gifts.
• One-time purchases, tips, or unsupported billing cadences.
• Subscriptions that are not linked to currently available Modsy content.
• Refunded or charged-back recurring payments when the provider supplies that evidence.
• Records whose provider, currency, price, or mapping cannot be verified safely.

The detailed dashboard breakdown may show the number of source records not counted. That number can include several of these categories and does not necessarily indicate an error.

Estimates and unavailable data

When a provider omits limited payment details, Modsy may use bounded price evidence already available for the same subscription or mapped benefit. The dashboard marks a total containing these values with ≈ and identifies estimated subscriptions in the detailed breakdown.

An estimate is included only when the available evidence supports a safe monthly value. If required evidence is missing, stale, or contradictory, the latest measurement may be unavailable instead of treating unknown value as zero. When possible, plan enforcement continues to use the most recent complete measurement until a fresh calculation succeeds.

How the plan limit works

Each paid Modder Membership plan includes a maximum linked subscription value per month. If a complete measurement exceeds that limit, Modsy provides a seven-day period to move to a suitable plan. Modsy never upgrades your plan or charges you automatically.

If the value remains above the limit after that period, affected premium content is hidden from new public access. Free mods stay public, and existing subscribers retain access to content they are entitled to. Premium content becomes public again automatically after the account returns within its plan limit.

Reconcile your total

Open the information button beside Linked subscription value, then select View detailed breakdown. Compare each provider's counted subscriptions, monthly contribution, annual contribution, estimates, and non-renewing paid access with the corresponding provider dashboard.

Provider changes can take time to arrive through signed webhooks and scheduled reconciliation. Check the displayed update date before investigating a difference. If the next completed provider sync still shows a mismatch, contact Modsy support without sending API keys, webhook secrets, access tokens, or customer personal information.
